Mr. Scott Olson, Teacher of Gardena High School and Mr. Kurihara, Principal of Nagoya Commercial High School |
| First impressions
We have been very warmly received by Principal Kurihara, all of the teachers, staff and students here at Nagoya Commercial Academy. Since arriving in Nagoya, the people here have been very helpful in showing us true Japanese hospitality. The opportunity to learn from the staff and students at CA has been appreciated. Nagoya is truly a beautiful city, and the people that we have met are very special people.

Introduction of students: The two students from Gardena High School are Ashley Daniel, 16, and Alyssa Baraoidan, 16. Both students are in their third year at Gardena High School. They are both very excited and happy to be here in Nagoya and to have the opportunity to learn more about Japanese culture and schools. Their host families have been very helpful in this time, teaching Ashley and Alyssa Japanese customs and making new friends.

First impressions of School: I am very impressed with the organization of Nagoya Commercial Academy and the dedication that I feel from each teacher. The technology in use at this school is also very impressive, as it will help develop the future performance of each student. Everyone that I have met has been very helpful in showing us the Japanese education system. It is quite impressive to watch the lessons in business communication and business English. I have been most grateful for the opportunity to explore the similarities and differences between the American and Japanese educational systems.
